These pages from the U.S. Census Slave Schedule of 1860 differentiates enslaved individuals in Walker County based on age, sex, and owner. Although not all names are listed, this document shows the large amount of people who were held in bondage in and around Huntsville. Since these records were written at the Walker County courthouse, this proves even further their role in continuing slavery and increasing the number of enslaved people.
