Reconstruction Era lithograph created in 1867 representing the ideal reconciliation between the North and the South following the war. Notice the black and white workers coming together to replace the pillars of our nation, an attempt to reconstruct our foundations. Phrases like 'Universal Education' and 'Universal Suffrage' are displayed, while prominent politicians from opposing sides greet each other as friends rather than enemies. | Creator: Horatio Bateman | Date: 1867 | Source: https://encyclopediavirginia.org/8111hpr-d17b8e172a1fd9f/Download Original File
