Although the church attendance can be seen as assimilation into American culture, it also shows a complex site transformed into an outlet so that the tribes could enact on and express their values, beliefs, and practices. Through analyzing the photo, one can see the continued practice of the Alabama - Coushatta values, such as the importance of family, community cooperation, generosity, and intergenerational generation.
