Reedy Chapel Baptist Church

Reedy Chapel was one of the founding African American churches in Galveston. The church's front is covered in corner stones that acknowledge Horace Scull, carpenter and Freedmen of Galveston and civil rights leader Norris Wright Scull. The church sits on Broadway only blocks away from the large manors of Moody Mansion and Bishops Palace, making it evident that the Black population from early on felt that there was no reason to hide in their own city. | Creator: Stucco Building | Date: captured April 13, 2021 | Source: Photograph by Heather Redmon | Rights: unrestricted
