From Travis Street, one can visually separate the original 10-story section from the mishmash of other construction. As an unidentified Chronicle employee told Swamplot (a local real estate blog) in late 2014: "The location is great...but the Chronicle's building doesn't have much to recommend it: It's really three very old buildings under a single, 1960s-ish faux-marble facade. (One of the the three was an old vaudeville theater.)
