LaJuana Glaze was crowned Miss Sam (Walker) Houston in 1959. At one time American high schools crowned two women during a school's Homecoming Week. One was a senior who represented the class graduating from the school that school year (1960 in Mrs. Glaze's case). The other was the "Homecoming Queen" who was a graduate of the school who was returning to watch the football game. Today high schools only crown a Homecoming Queen who is a senior that year.
