Gloria Washington, Texas African American History Museum co-founder and Executive Director, displays a collection in 2018. After forming a small exhibit at the original location at the Unique Shopping Mall, the Texas African American Museum relocated to a larger space on N Border Avenue. Washington excitedly utilized the new square footage to increase the collections and exhibits. A proponent of historical education and preservation, Washington began offering school tours as a means of encouraging appreciation for black history beyond black history month. Since 2016, Washington has organized and hosted many events in the community and the museum has grown greatly as a result. | Creator: Tyler Morning Telegraph | Date: 2018 | Source: https://static.s123-cdn.com/uploads/4609084/normal_5fccbe766246e.pdfDownload Original File
